Narrow.

Open your mouth wide, and prepare
to swallow one more bitter spoonful
of emotions
meant to be suppressed,
not felt –
just tucked away, unheard.

Close your eyes tight,
cinch the corners and keep out the light
because the illumination of reality
is blinding.
Lying to yourself is akin to being optimistic,
so surely walking around with eyes closed
will be the key to happiness.

Assume that when you speak,
you are wrong,
and that your experiences are had in some
dismorphic way;
you are the odd one out.
